WHAT HAPPENS DURING BREAST AUGMENTATION SURGERY?
During surgery, incisions are made in inconspicuous areas (such as the armpit, around the areola, or below the breast crease), and a pocket is made either right behind the breast tissue or beneath the muscle of the chest wall. The implant is inserted into this pocket and centered beneath the nipple for a natural look. Afterward, sutures are made to close incisions, and dressings are applied.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING RECOVERY?
Patients typically experience mild soreness, swelling, bruising, and discomfort in their chest area following surgery. You will be provided instructions on how to care for your surgical site after surgery and medication to help manage pain while healing. During follow-up visits with Dr. Obasi, he will assess your progress and determine when normal activities (including exercise) can be resumed. Over time, your breasts will heal, and you will have the opportunity to share your new look and feel more confident in your appearance. Please note that your breast augmentation procedure results are long-lasting but not permanent. Dr. Patrick Obasi recommends regular follow-up visits for long-term health and comfort.
